Gavin Mayes-Long

Counsellor offering humanistic, tailored therapy for men experiencing anxiety, low mood, trauma, and relational difficulties.

I work in a humanistic and relational way, offering a supportive and non-judgemental space where clients can explore what is going on for them and find practical ways forward. I recognise that seeking support can feel challenging, and I aim to meet each person with respect, openness, and care.

My work is shaped around you and the difficulties you are facing, with therapy tailored to support coping, understanding, and meaningful change in day-to-day life.

How I work

My approach is integrative and person-centred, drawing on a range of therapeutic models and techniques. I work collaboratively, developing an individual strategy with each client to help make sense of experiences, build resilience, and manage challenges more effectively.

I place particular emphasis on creating a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship, which allows difficult or sensitive issues to be explored at a pace that feels right for you.
