Esthella Cortes
Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist offering in-depth, reflective therapy for adults experiencing emotional, relational, and developmental difficulties.
I am a Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist with extensive clinical experience in mental health. Alongside my clinical practice, I completed a PhD in Psychiatry at the University of Cambridge, where my research focused on autism. My background as a medical doctor, with training and placements in psychiatry, continues to shape and inform my psychoanalytic work.
I offer a thoughtful and containing therapeutic space in which clients can explore difficulties, develop insight, and support meaningful and lasting change.
How I work
My work is grounded in psychoanalytic and psychodynamic thinking, with a focus on understanding emotional experience in depth and over time. Therapy offers space to explore patterns, relationships, and inner conflicts, helping to make sense of both current difficulties and earlier experiences that may continue to influence the present.
I work in a personalised and collaborative way, respecting each individual’s pace and readiness. Sessions can be held in either English or Spanish, depending on what feels most comfortable for you.
