Atiye Asan
BACP-recognised Integrative Counsellor offering Humanistic, Person-Centred and Psychodynamic counselling for adults, shaped around your needs and pace.
As an integrative counsellor, I draw on a range of counselling approaches, with my core modality rooted in Humanistic, Person-Centred and Psychodynamic therapy, to create a way of working that is tailored to you. I don’t believe that one approach fits everyone, so therapy is shaped around your experiences, needs, and what you hope to gain from our work together.
Whatever brings you to counselling, we will look at it together in a safe, compassionate, and supportive way, moving at your pace. At the heart of my work is a trusting, non-judgemental relationship, where you feel understood and supported to explore what is happening for you in the present and, where helpful, to make sense of past experiences.
How I work
I work relationally and collaboratively, with the belief that you are the expert in your own life. My role is to support you as you explore your experiences, helping you develop greater understanding, self-awareness, and resilience.
My approach may involve gently exploring how earlier experiences continue to influence your thoughts, feelings, or relationships today, alongside looking at practical ways of coping with current challenges. Some sessions may feel more reflective, while others may be more focused on managing day-to-day difficulties — we work together to find what feels most helpful for you.
