Roisin Curtin
Clinical Psychologist - HCPC Practitioner Psychologist offering EMDR, and integrative psychodynamic for adults
Beginning therapy can feel exposing and uncertain. It often involves trusting another person with experiences that may have been held inside for a long time. Engaging in emotional work takes courage, and I aim to offer a safe, confidential, and compassionate space where this work can unfold at your own pace.
I am a Clinical Psychologist with extensive experience working within the NHS, supporting young people and adults through a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties.
How I work
My therapeutic approach is informed by psychodynamic psychotherapy, which focuses on understanding how past experiences, relationships, and unconscious patterns may influence the way we experience ourselves and others today.
Together, we create a reflective space to explore these patterns with curiosity and compassion, helping you develop greater self-understanding and discover new ways of relating to yourself and those around you.
Alongside psychodynamic therapy, I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), an evidence-based therapy that can be particularly helpful for people who have experienced trauma or distressing life events. Where appropriate, I integrate EMDR into therapy to support the processing of difficult experiences and reduce their ongoing emotional impact.
I offer short-term, time-limited therapy, providing a reliable therapeutic relationship within which meaningful psychological change can take place.
