Anne L Ryan
UKCP-Registered Body Psychotherapist working with adults in a humanistic, integrative, and body-centred approach
My journey into body psychotherapy began through my career as a vocal coach and performance artist. Working with performers, I became fascinated by the many ways we communicate emotion—not only through words and voice, but through breath, movement, posture, and the body itself.
Alongside my own creative practice, I discovered how music, body awareness, breath, and voice could help restore balance and deepen emotional wellbeing. This experience inspired me to train as a body psychotherapist and continues to shape the way I work today.
How I work
My approach is humanistic, integrative, and body-centred. I believe that our bodies often carry experiences, emotions, and patterns that may not always be accessible through words alone. Together, we explore the relationship between mind and body, developing awareness of habitual patterns that may once have served a purpose but now limit how you experience yourself and the world.
Working with your unique story, intuition, and embodied awareness, therapy becomes an opportunity to reconnect with yourself in a more authentic and compassionate way. As old patterns begin to soften, many people experience greater emotional freedom, resilience, and a renewed capacity to express themselves fully.
I offer a collaborative and reflective therapeutic space, respecting your individual pace while supporting your body's own capacity for healing and growth.

Above all, I believe that the body holds an innate capacity for healing. By listening with curiosity and compassion to both mind and body, therapy can create the conditions for meaningful change, allowing you to live with greater freedom, authenticity, and wellbeing.
